Job Title: Design Assistant

We're seeking a highly motivated and creative Design Assistant to partner with our Senior Designer in preparing trend mood boards, sourcing fabrics and trims, and developing range concepts. As a Design Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our designs are on-trend and meet the high standards of Forever New.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of trend mood boards for concepts and product development
  • Sourcing fabrics and trims to develop range concepts
  • Developing colour palettes in line with trend and trade information
  • Ensuring 'finger on pulse' of emerging trends to stay ahead of the competition
  • Creating/visualising outstanding new designs in line with Forever New's signature style
  • Participating in weekly Design meetings to contribute to group discussion and share new ideas
  • Presenting trend boards to buyers to ensure key trends, shapes, colour direction, and fabrics are considered
  • Researching fabric trends for the season and sourcing fabric and trims in consultation with the Designer
Requirements:
  • Qualification in Fashion Design or Graphic Design
  • Computer literacy in InDesign, Illustrator, CAD, and PowerPoint
  • Skilled in visualising design concepts (by hand and/or PC/MAC)
  • Ability to translate fashion trends into commercial design concepts
  • Creative talent and high attention to detail
  • Sound technical knowledge and garment construction skills
  • Basic fabric and raw material knowledge
  • Sound knowledge of local and overseas fashion retail markets
