Speech Pathologist Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Speech Pathologist in a national NDIS provider. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in improving the lives of individuals with communication disorders and swallowing difficulties.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Pathologist to manage a caseload in the Gympie region. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong organisational skills and expertise in speech pathology.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapy sessions to help patients improve their communication skills. They will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for NDIS participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals
  • Provide therapy sessions to help patients improve their communication skills and overcome challenges
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for NDIS participants
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, progress notes, and reports
  • Educate and support families and caregivers on communication strategies and techniques
  • Stay updated on the latest research and evidence-based practices in speech pathology
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution
  • Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Good knowledge of speech and language development, communication disorders, and treatment approaches
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations, including children and adults with disabilities
  • Familiarity with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its processes
  • Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective patient interaction and report writing
  • Proficiency in using assistive communication technologies and devices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
