Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Dentist to join our team in providing clinical dental services to rural and remote communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking accurate diagnoses and treatment planning, managing patient care, and maintaining effective practices for the sterilisation and disinfection of instruments and equipment. They will also provide health education and promote oral hygiene, as well as maintain and process dental records.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake accurate diagnosis and treatment planning within scope of practice
  2. Provide appropriate referral of patients for specialist services or private services for non-eligible patients
  3. Identify high risk patients and manage effectively
  4. Maintain effective practices for the sterilisation and disinfection of instruments and equipment to prevent cross infection
  5. Maintain and process dental records
  6. Provide health education and promote oral hygiene
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Dental Science or a related discipline
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with no current conditions as a Dental Practitioner
  • Minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience as a Dentist within Australia
  • Availability to work a one week on and one week off roster
  • Ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions
  • A commitment to excellence in the delivery of patient-focused health care
  • Ability to handle challenging operational situations in a calm and rational manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders
  • Clinical competency in independent patient care
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical patient record systems and sound experience in Microsoft Office applications
  • To hold Professional Indemnity insurance cover
  • Current CPR (or willing to obtain one)
  • Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Working with Children's Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia
