About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team at Ability Action Australia. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable members of our community by acting as an advocate and role model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, develop, and deliver evidence-based support plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminating restrictive practices.
  • Build the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support our clients in their lives, including family, carers, and friends.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive support services.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration as a Suitable or Core NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • A degree-level qualification as an allied health professional or related field, such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, or psychology.
  • Experience creating, implementing, and reviewing behaviour support plans.
  • A genuine passion for working in the disability sector and a commitment to delivering high-quality support services.
