Clinical Coder Job Description

Our organization is seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Australian Coding Standards and have the ability to work collaboratively with clinicians and other health professionals.

  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to interact effectively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Undertake high quality, accurate and timely clinical coding of health care records in accordance with Australian Coding standards
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians and other health professionals to ensure the highest standard in clinical coding
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Fully qualified Clinical Coder with experience in Australian Coding Standards (ICD-10-AM 12th edition)
  • Proven coding experience with a minimum of 3 years' coding in a tertiary level hospital
  • Demonstrated experience using 3M Codefinder
