About This Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Per Diem Aged Care Nurse Specialist. In this role, you will provide clinical supervision and coordinate the delivery of safe, effective, and individualized care to our residents and their families.

As an Aged Care Nurse Specialist with The Salvation Army, you will be responsible for completing relevant documentation in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of residents. You will maintain good clinical records and accurate documentation to ensure legal adequacy and compliance with AN-ACC requirements.

You will also be required to maintain appropriate ordering, management, and administration of medications in accordance with policy and procedures. Additionally, you will comply with the conditions, amendments, and regulations of related acts, such as the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1996.

Liaising with doctors and other health professionals is a critical aspect of this role, as you will follow directions for the administration of medications and treatments in accordance with legislative guidelines. Furthermore, you will complete necessary reports, care plans, and other documentation required.

About You

To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the values and ethos of The Salvation Army. You must have current unrestricted registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and demonstrated aged care experience.

In addition, you should be able to work as part of a team, promote education and leadership in aged care, and have a commitment to continuous quality improvement. Your experience in developing care plans and understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and AN-ACC is also essential.
