Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Defence sector, supporting operations and maintenance services effectively and sustainably. As a key member of our team, you will be based at Pearce RAAF Base, working closely with other technicians to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

The role involves a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Scoping mechanical and electrical work activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Procurement of materials and creation of work packs to support maintenance activities
  • Management of maintenance documentation on Computerised Maintenance Management System to maintain accuracy and up-to-date records
  • Coordination of contractors, including obtaining quotes and documentation to ensure compliance with Defence regulations
  • Assisting maintenance technicians in field works to provide hands-on support and expertise
  • Supporting various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to different locations throughout WA

We are seeking a strong team player with a proactive approach and high motivation. The successful applicant should have:

  • Previous labouring or trade (mechanical) experience in a similar environment
  • Experience with SAP-based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems to ensure seamless integration
  • Experience preparing permit to work documentation and risk assessments to maintain safety standards
  • Safety awareness and ability to work safely in a Defence environment
  • Defence Security Clearance for access to sensitive information
  • IT skills to efficiently manage documentation and reports
