Culturally Sensitive Mental Health Support
We are seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health Liaison Officer to support cultural planning for our membership and staff.
This role will implement our commitment to providing culturally appropriate and accessible psychiatric care by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support our staff in developing and delivering Cultural Support Plans for members who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Review and assess progress and outcomes related to improving cultural safety and mental health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Provide guidance for planning, including securing culturally relevant endorsement of plans we are responsible for.
- Advise and support in coordinating Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander projects.
- Build capacity of service delivery teams to implement culturally sensitive practice through advice and education provision.
- Keep staff and members updated about events and programs available within local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must be either an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen.
