Heavy Equipment Operator Role

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator who can ensure personal safety and the safety of others in all aspects of the job. Providing excellent customer service is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Loaders: Feed the Crushing Plant with recycled concrete and asphalt rubble.
  • Loading Trucks: Load customer finished aggregate into customer trucks when required.
  • Rubble Inspection: Inspect and manage inbound rubble stream as well as stockpiles.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist the crushing plant operator with routine maintenance, repairs, plant and mechanical inspections.
  • Safety Equipment Inspection: Perform daily safety equipment inspections and routine loader maintenance.
Training and Development
  • Develop skills through onsite training to become the backup Telsmith crusher plant operator.
Safety and Environmental Awareness
  • Maintain environmental records as well as environmental BMP infrastructure throughout the site.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Skills and Qualifications: Loader operator, welding and mechanical skills; safety conscious; self-motivated; excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience: 3-5 years, including 980 or 988 (or equal) Loader operator experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding and Mechanical Skills: Proficiency in welding and mechanics is preferred.
  • Bilingualism: Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Advanced Experience: 8 years Loader Operator experience and crusher experience is desired.
Additional Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and reliability is expected.
