About the Role
Gallagher Bassett is seeking an Eligibility Officer to join our team. As an Eligibility Officer, you will be the first point of contact for newly received Workers Compensation claims. Your primary responsibility will be to determine the acceptance or rejection of claims, using claims legislation and case law to coordinate and obtain information from key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine the compensability of claims within Workers Compensation frameworks
- Investigate the cause of injuries sustained by workers
- Make fair and accurate decisions on claims within 28 days
- Communicate claims updates and outcomes to injured workers and employers
- Conduct investigations to ensure every decision made for new claims is of the highest quality and consideration for our customers
Requirements
- Experience in a Worker's Compensation Eligibility role, Case Management role, general insurance or a similar position from a different industry
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Receptivity to continued learning and training
- Investigative and evidence-based decision-making skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
