Childcare Cook

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Childcare Cook. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals that cater to the diverse needs of our children.

  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience in menu planning, budgeting, and stock ordering and control.
  • A Certificate III in Cookery is essential, along with current and valid Working with Children Check and First Aid and CPR certificates including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
Main Responsibilities

The Childcare Cook will be responsible for:

  • Preparing a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and various kitchen equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work station area.
  • Handling, storing, labeling, and rotating all products properly and in accordance with applicable state laws.
  • Ensuring all ingredients and produce used and served to customers are of good quality.
  • Stocking and maintaining sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
  • Closing the kitchen properly and following the closing checklist for the kitchen station.
Requirements
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
