
Clinical Therapist – Custodial Setting

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Psychotherapist/Specialist Psychotherapist to join our team, providing expert care to individuals within a custodial setting. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of men in custody.
Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, with experience in trauma-informed practice, cognitive impairment, forensic risk, or behaviour change. A strong ethical foundation and commitment to evidence-based practice are essential for success in this role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychological assessments and deliver individual interventions, ensuring the highest level of care and support.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, promoting engagement and participation in rehabilitation programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop comprehensive behaviour support plans and provide expert consultation on mental health, trauma, and risk.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in OIMS and psychology files, ensuring seamless communication with stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and contribute to discussions with statutory bodies, such as the Parole Authority and Mental Health Review Tribunal.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Full registration (or provisional registration) with the relevant professional body is mandatory.
- A strong interest in trauma-informed practice, cognitive impairment, forensic risk, or behaviour change is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- A NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel as required are necessary for this role.
