Accounting Role

This is an opportunity to join the Strategic Surveillance team as a financial expert. The role is responsible for supporting the Project and/or Finance Manager in maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial data.

The role requires providing detailed, accurate and relevant reporting and commentary on forecasts, budget and cash flow to the project team and central finance group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and efficient reporting of financial results for the project.
  • Collaborate with the project controls group on job ledger issues.
  • Prepare journals for project accruals and adjustments.
  • Manage the accruals process; prepare and review reconciliation process between job and general ledger.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree qualification and professional CA, CIMA or CPA qualification.
  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Australian International Framework of Reporting Standards.
  • Understanding of ongoing billing processes, maintenance and monitoring.
  • Experience with Month-end reporting activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the broader finance team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of project stakeholders.
  • High literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Exposure to Oracle ERP desirable.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Eligibility for a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearance.
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may apply; nationality may be a factor in suitability for this role.
