**Structures Analyst Role Overview**

At our organization, we strive to push the boundaries of space exploration and make humanity a multi-planetary species. We are seeking an experienced Structures Analyst to join our team.

Our vehicle engineering team is responsible for developing reusable launch vehicles and spacecraft that will enable human life on Mars and beyond. The successful candidate will work with us to perform structural analysis of primary and secondary structures using finite element modeling and hand calculations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop guidance and structural analysis tools used throughout the company
  • Perform structural analysis of primary and secondary structures using finite element modeling and hand calculations
  • Develop load paths and conduct preliminary sizing of structures using metallic and composite materials
  • Collaborate with the team to perform rapid conceptual design, analysis, and testing cycles on development hardware
  • Peer review of models, analysis, and tests

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, math, or physics discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience in structural analysis with commercial FEA or multi-physics simulation package

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

  • Master's degree or PhD in an engineering, math, or physics discipline
  • Experience performing structural analysis on primary structures
  • Proficiency with ABAQUS, ANSYS, or Nastran FEA solvers
  • Advanced proficiency with ABAQUS/CAE, ANSA/META, ANSYS, or FEMAP pre/post-processors
  • Familiarity with material, geometric, and contact nonlinear analyses
  • Scripting experience using Python, VBA, or Matlab
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed, travel occasionally
