We are seeking a talented Global Merchandising Strategist to join our team at Michael Hill in Brisbane, Australia.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to drive strategies that maximise sales and profit while managing inventory health and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop category and product level sales, GP and inventory plans, including pre-season strategy and budget setting and in-season re-forecasting.
  • Work closely with Buyers to lead categories and develop product assortments with a focus on customer centric ranging.
  • Plan delivery and product phasing to ensure entry and exits are executed with space, inventory, realistic sell down plans and GP maximisation considerations.
  • Manage OTB, including maintaining an accurate financial WSSI, quantifying and placing monthly core replenishment at product level, quarterly newness quantification, and ensuring spend aligns with budget.
  • Drive enhanced reporting and analysis with a focus on attribute level learnings and actions.

  • You have extensive planning experience in a retail environment.
  • You possess strong business acumen supported by advanced system, forecasting, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • You have a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • You can lead a planning team and work alongside buying teams with a collaborative open approach.
  • You have a positive and caring leadership style with experience developing junior planning teams.
