  • The Environmental Sustainability Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that infrastructure projects adhere to environmental permits and regulations, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance throughout the project lifecycle.">

This specialist provides input into Construction Environmental Management Plans, conducts regular environmental audits and compliance inspections at construction sites, and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with Commonwealth and State environmental approvals, regulations, and project requirements.

This role involves working closely with project managers and construction teams to identify and address environmental risks, providing guidance and support on environmental best practices during construction planning and delivery phase, liaising with regulatory bodies and contractors to ensure compliance with environmental permits and approvals, and conducting environmental incident investigations and implementing corrective actions as required.

In addition, this specialist provides environmental training and awareness programs for construction teams, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to promote environmental stewardship and sustainability, and assists with other project duties as directed by the team lead.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or related field.">
  • Experience in implementing Construction Environmental Management Plans.">
  • Comprehensive understanding of Federal and State environmental protection laws and permitting processes related to construction projects.">
  • Experience in conducting environmental audits and compliance inspections in a construction setting.">
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills.">
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.">
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.">
  • Familiarity with GIS">
  • Driver’s Licence">
  • Accreditation in environmental auditing">
