Imagining a better future is a powerful catalyst for change. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be part of a team that designs and delivers innovative energy solutions.

In this role, you will apply your technical expertise across thermal and renewable power generation projects. This includes gas turbines (OCGT/CCGT), coal-fired and hydro power stations. You will support the design and delivery of control and instrumentation systems (PLC, DCS), functional safety systems (AS 61511), and EEHA-compliant designs.

You will also contribute to the development of control and protection system communications using industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP, OPC) and IEC 61850 networks. Collaboration with electrical engineers on secondary systems such as protection and excitation systems is also essential.

In addition, you will perform electrical engineering analysis and ensure compliance with Australian Standards and relevant legislation. Reviewing and verifying engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation is also a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply technical expertise across thermal and renewable power generation projects
  • Support design and delivery of control and instrumentation systems

  • Collaborate with electrical engineers on secondary systems
  • Perform electrical engineering analysis and ensure compliance with standards
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered status (CPEng) and registration (RPEQ, RPEV), or working towards
  • Proven experience in thermal and renewable power generation projects
  • Proven track record in delivering complex projects within consultancy environments
  • Strong understanding of safety in design, risk management, and QA/OH&S systems
