Job Title: Electrical Systems Specialist

About the Role
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work as a self-sufficient and motivated Electrical Systems Engineer in Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane teams.
  • Reporting to the General Manager, you will use technical knowledge and experience to be an integral part of the execution of technical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Electrical engineering, taking designs from concept into detailed IFC engineering deliverables.
  2. Prepare Electrical and instrumentation designs and calculations in accordance with relevant Client and Australian Standards.
  3. Control System software design including PLC and SCADA.
  4. Industrial Communication System Design, and sound knowledge of IP Networks.
  5. Sound knowledge of Programming Languages (C, C++, .NET, Python, etc.).
  6. Configuration and commissioning of Electrical (protection devices, VSD's, Instrumentation) and Control Systems.
  7. Management and ownership of electrical design projects.
  8. Prepare technical engineering documents as part of overall project engineering deliverables.
  9. Providing technical review and advice to a growing team of electrical/controls engineers and to the wider team.
  10. Support and collaborate with other disciplines and designers to develop designs for a wide range of plant and infrastructure.
  11. Maintain a safety focus through all aspects of work.
About You

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer who has experience working in the mining and resources sector within Australia.

Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • 6+ years of multidiscipline Engineering experience in the mining and resources sector within Australia.
  • Proven experience as a design electrical engineer (LV, HV, VSD's, Instrumentation etc.) able to produce calculations and design documentation.
  • Practical experience working in construction, commissioning and/or operations in the bulk materials and minerals processing industries.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of Control Systems in SCADA, PLC and RTU Platforms.
  • Good presentation and communication skills at all levels.
  • Awareness and collaboration across multiple disciplines, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process controls.
