
Payroll Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire payroll process, from processing payroll to employee and statutory payments, payroll-related accounting, reporting, and compliance.
They will be required to administer specifically assigned payroll-related activities, including timely and accurate vendor invoice processing. They must adhere to company policies and procedures, promote a positive payroll team environment, prepare monthly general ledger reconciliation, check and analyze payroll accounts, update time data and pay period adjustments in the payroll system.
Payroll processing and verification of payroll calculations/payments are also key responsibilities. The candidate will coordinate salary transfers to employees' bank accounts, respond to employees' queries on payroll payments, and prepare final statements for terminated employees.
Additionally, they will complete monthly reconciliations of payroll accounts, coordinate monthly deposits of withheld taxes and retirement benefits to respective authorities, and prepare annual withholding taxes and retirement benefits returns and submit them to respective authorities.
In terms of qualifications and education, a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 6 years of work experience in payroll and knowledge of international payroll are also essential. High standards of safe working practice, quality, and productivity, as well as compliance with the Code of Business Conduct, are expected.
The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of all aspects of payroll processing, gross to net calculations, reconciliation of taxes, resolution of GL and Treasury issues. Strong communication skills, ability to multi-task, work as an individual contributor as well as a team player, and adhere to strict deadlines are necessary.
Maintaining key competencies associated with the payroll processing function and possessing strong communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken, are desirable qualities.
