Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

As a speech language pathologist, you will play a crucial role in providing therapy services to students and developing capacity within schools to meet the needs of diverse learners. This position involves working within a consultative framework with various stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, learning support teachers, therapists, administration, and external agencies.

Working cooperatively with the Engagement Wellbeing & Learning Team, principals, and school staff, you will facilitate a holistic approach to learning for all students in our schools. Frequent and regular school visits are an essential component of this role.

  • Speech pathology qualifications at degree level are required.
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia is necessary.
  • You should have demonstrated ability to select and apply current methodologies in the provision of speech language pathology services in an educational setting.
  • Diagnostic assessment skills and the implementation of programs and associated strategies to support the needs of students are also required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are necessary for good working relationships.
  • Ability to operate in teams and develop professional networks is essential.
  • Capacity to provide professional learning opportunities for staff development that improve teaching and learning experiences of students is also required.
  • A valid Working with Children Blue Card and a current Queensland Driver's Licence are necessary.
  • Eligibility to work within Australia for the period of this appointment is also required.
  • A strong commitment to the objectives, vision, and ethos of Catholic Education is expected.

What We Offer:

A competitive salary range $100,600- $159,917 per annum pending experience is offered, along with 12.75% employer superannuation contribution. Annual leave with 17.5% leave loading and access to salary packaging options to maximise your salary are also provided. Long service leave after 7 years of continuous service (portability of Long Service Leave may also be applicable) and 14 Weeks' paid parental leave are available. Fitness passport membership and professional development and Early Career Teacher Support are offered. Access to Employee Assistance Program is also available.
