Gardening and Grounds Maintenance Professional

Our institution is a specialist senior school offering tailored pathways to students in Years 11 and 12.

This role involves providing gardening, grounds and facility management services to ensure a safe and clean environment. Key responsibilities include maintaining the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean and tidy condition, as well as managing turf areas including soft and hard landscaping.

The Job Description

The successful candidate will perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required, along with other duties associated with the Gardener - Handyperson role. To achieve this, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management, and knowledge of horticultural methods and procedures.

Key performance indicators for this role include efficiently and effectively completing all tasks, ensuring the safe storage of equipment and materials, and working independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management
  • Knowledge of horticultural methods and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid Working With Children Check
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • Current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit
