Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Officer to join our Estate team at James Cook University. As a key member of the facilities operations team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity and ongoing functionality of JCU's assets and built environment.

Your primary responsibility will be to undertake maintenance works and diagnosis by applying existing knowledge and judgment to resolve proactive and preventative maintenance issues. This will ensure minimal disruption to the University's operation.

You will also assist in the development of Safe Work Method Statements, Risk Assessments, work instructions and material lists to enable works to be approved.

In addition, you will assist with liaison of onsite contractors including, quality management and time management for all works on the University's assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake maintenance works and diagnosis to resolve proactive and preventative maintenance issues.
  • Develop and implement safe work practices and procedures.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure quality management and timely completion of works.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and asset condition.
