About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our clinic in Bundaberg on a Part-time basis. As a key member of our small team, you will deliver best practice Radiation Oncology nursing services, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide an exceptional treatment experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
  • Undertake direct patient care, including education, wound management, and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
  • Effectively manage patient interactions, facilitating effective communication with doctors, patient services, physicists, and radiation therapists.
  • Ensure all patient interactions are documented, communicated, and actioned.
  • Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
  • Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
  • Use ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services.
Requirements
  • A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience (preferred).
  • A background in oncology nursing (not essential), with training in radiation oncology nursing provided.
  • Exemplary interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement, including the NSQHS.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience in wound care management.
