Teaching Position in Health Education

Oxley Christian College is an independent, co-educational school located in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We are a vibrant community with around 1100 students who enjoy excellent programs from Early Learning to Year 12.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Planning:
    • Designing, implementing, and regularly updating comprehensive health and physical education curriculum aligned with the Australian curriculum standards for Prep to Year 6.
    • Conducting engaging health and physical education classes that focus on skill development, sportsmanship, and fitness.
    • Assessing students' progress and providing constructive feedback to support their growth while ensuring alignment with the Australian curriculum standards and our Christian values.
    • Organising and supervising sports activities and events with emphasis on character development and spiritual growth.
    • Planning and teaching Health lessons that include social-emotional learning to promote students' overall well-being and character development.
  • Biblical Perspective:
    • Integrating Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into the curriculum to foster spiritual and moral development among students.
  • Upholding College Values:
    • Demonstrating a strong commitment to upholding the values and ethos of Oxley Christian College, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Maintaining a well-organised and positive classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
  • Collaboration:
    • Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community to support the holistic development of students.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor degree in Health and Physical Education, Primary Education, or a related field (with teaching qualifications).
  • Experience teaching primary school students preferably in an Australian Curriculum based setting.
  • Ability to teach from a Biblical perspective and integrate Christian values into teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
