We are looking for a highly skilled Banking Consultant to join our team in Canberra.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with customers and want to develop their financial expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, professionalism, and knowledge of frontline controls.

In this role, you will be responsible for advising customers on appropriate products and services, supporting the branch with non-centralised controls tasks, and acting as a mentor to Personal Banking Consultants.

You will work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless customer experiences and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing account opening activities and managing complex queries
  • Being the branch's trust account expert and training Personal Banking Consultants
  • Introducing customers to digital banking solutions and meeting their needs
  • Managing customer feedback and enquiries effectively
  • Daily maintenance and reconciliation of system audit reports
  • Supporting cash custodian under dual control and end-of-day account balancing

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 12 months' previous experience as Personal Banker or Customer Service Officer
  • A keen focus on customer service, professionalism, and knowledge of frontline controls
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of banking procedures and systems
  • The desire to develop your financial expertise and grow your career
  • Ability to understand and provide solutions tailored to meet individual customer needs
