CG Supervisor Job Description

The role of CG Supervisor is pivotal in driving the success of high-calibre projects, overseeing visual development and execution. This position requires a creative leader with exceptional skills in guiding talented artists across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Leadership and Visual Direction: Ensure that the artistic vision and narrative tone are met through effective visual direction.
  • Team Supervision and Mentorship: Foster growth and elevate quality among CG artists.
  • Pipeline and Workflow Coordination: Collaborate with production and technical teams for efficient and scalable workflows.
  • Tool & Process Innovation: Identify and implement new tools and solutions that meet project needs and industry best practices.
  • Problem Solving and Creative Solutions: Balance artistic integrity and production demands through practical and imaginative approaches.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Ensure seamless integration of CG elements into final shots.
  • Client Interaction and Creative Review: Translate feedback into clear direction during client reviews and internal dailies.
  • Project Management Partnership: Support production in setting milestones, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Technical Oversight: Validate technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth interdepartmental workflows.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and practices to maintain a strong creative and technical environment.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience as a CG Supervisor on high-calibre VFX film and TV episodic projects;
  • thorough understanding of combining VFX elements into live-action plates;
  • proven leadership skills and technical knowledge of VFX production pipelines.
