Senior Estimator Position

This is a senior level position that plays a key role in the tender process, managing projects from start to finish.

About the Role
  • Manage the tender process from inception to completion.
  • Be responsible for take-offs and negotiations with subcontractors while receiving support from directors of the business.
  • Develop relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete cost evaluations and pricing analysis of quotes to ensure accurate project pricing.
  • Consider and cost preliminary requirements for project delivery, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Develop project budgets, cost models, and bid proposals to maximize project profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to align on scope and costs, driving project success.
  • Monitor market conditions and integrate insights into cost forecasting, ensuring proactive management of project risks.
  • Peer review tender estimates to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Mentor junior estimators and improve estimating tools and processes to enhance overall team performance.
Requirements
  • 8+ years industry experience, ideally in the commercial space.
  • Understand current rates in the commercial environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Eye for detail with take-offs etc.
  • Proven experience working on tenders over $5 mil.
  • Relevant experience working for a Tier 1, 2 or 3 Builder or a large fit out contractor.
  • Local experience required for this role.
