Aurecon Australasia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Works Engineer to join our Delivery Management team in Newcastle. As a key member of our Transport group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to our clients in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our Construction Manager, Surveillance Officers, and Independent Certification team to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Conduct thorough structural inspections of physical works to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Respond to requests for information from contractors and provide timely resolutions.
- Assist Surveillance Officers in undertaking surveillance of physical works as required.
- Contribute to site surveillance documentation, including photographic evidence of works being undertaken.
- Elevate issues and non-conformances raised by Surveillance Officers that cannot be resolved by contractor site personnel.
- Participate in formal risk assessments related to the works.
- Provide input into weekly site meetings, including planning for civil / structural surveillance and inspections.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in the construction industry.
- Previous experience in reviewing major civil / structural works construction, including reinforced concrete, precast concrete, bridge structures, retaining walls, and steelworks.
- Knowledge of TfNSW construction specifications related to earthworks, roads, bridges, concrete works, and steelworks.
- A high standard of written and verbal communication skills.
- An eye for detail and the ability to raise concerns to contractor site staff.
- An unwavering commitment to the highest standards of health and safety at all times.
