Job Role Overview

The Building Decommissioning Officer plays a pivotal role in the management of sites and coordination of simple works contracts. This includes engaging contractors to decommission critical assets under the direction of the decommissioning manager.

They oversee the effective planning, execution, and completion of projects within designated timelines and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Process Management
  • Contractor Performance Management and Contract Administration Duties
  • Financial Management and Cash Flow Control
  • Project Reporting and Stakeholder Communication
Decommissioning Process
  • Coordinate with Relocations and Local Housing Offices for Decanting Sites
  • Collaborate with Program Consultants and Contractors for Decommissioning Engineering and Fire-Related Assets
  • Work Closely with Head Contractors and Responsive Maintenance Teams for Supervising Simple Works Contracts
Requirements
  • A Strong Project Manager with Demonstrated Ability to Plan Projects, Prepare Budgets, Monitor Progress, and Keep Stakeholders Informed and Engaged
  • Experience in Delivering Multifaceted Fast-Track Residential or Social Infrastructure Projects
  • A Proven Professional with Exceptional Interpersonal, Written Communication, Consultation, and Negotiation Skills
Accountabilities
  • Contribute to the Full Life Cycle of Projects to Meet Departmental Objectives
  • Assist in Research, Analysis, and Implementation of Projects Based on Defined Outcomes and Outputs
  • Support the Development and Delivery of Projects or Sub-Projects and Their Successful Completion Within Resource Constraints, Timelines, and Budget Parameters
