About the Role

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled Driver to join our team in Thomastown. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate collection of goods from donor properties, clothing banks, and stores.

You will work closely with our Transport Supervisor to evaluate and decline items that are not in a resalable condition. Your excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills will be essential in providing a professional experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading goods, including furniture items
  • Performing laboring tasks, including lifting and carrying reasonable weights
  • Distributing goods to stores and assisting retail staff as needed
  • Ensuring a safe and efficient delivery process
  • Completing pre-start checks, reporting incidents, and maintaining vehicle safety
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle provided

About You

We are looking for a well-presented, high-energy individual with a can-do attitude. Previous experience in multi-drop, courier, or furniture removal is highly regarded, but not essential. What is essential is a MR license, good time management, reliability, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

You will be a team player who is comfortable working with limited supervision and can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 1 year's driving experience operating a medium rigid vehicle
  • Current Australian driver's license/Medium Rigid license (or above)
  • Confident driving skills and a proven safety record
  • Multi-drop, courier, and/or furniture removal experience (an advantage)
  • Reasonable written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Right to work in Australia
