Leisure and Therapy Support Specialist

This role involves partnering with residents to promote their physical and emotional well-being by engaging in meaningful activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting residents in maintaining optimal functional abilities through collaborative efforts with the allied health team.
  • Encouraging residents to use and develop their abilities to participate in activities that bring them joy and fulfillment.
  • Ensuring a safe and sound work environment that complies with workplace policies and procedures.
  • Providing person-centered support during therapeutic activities, adhering to individual care plans.
  • Fostering family involvement in the daily life of their loved ones.

Desirable skills and experience include:

  • Prior experience working with dementia clients and residents in leisure and therapeutic settings.
  • Certification in Allied Health (Cert III) or related field.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
