About the Opportunity

This role offers a unique chance to lead the delivery of an Indigenous co-designed research project within our National Research Collections and Digital Infrastructure initiative.

  • Guide the ethical integration of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) and Indigenous Data Sovereignty (IDSov) principles into collections policy, governance, and practice as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will strengthen relationships, align project activities with national and international policy frameworks, and identify opportunities for mutually beneficial research partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

As the Indigenous Research Manager, you will oversee the delivery of a major project co-designed with an established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement strategic plans, manage risks, and deliver outputs in line with reporting and governance requirements.
  2. Co-design and implement project activities that centre Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges, priorities, and governance.
  3. Support the effective operation of the established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group, ensuring culturally respectful processes and timely provision of information.
