Job Overview

The Sport and Recreation Liaison Officer plays a pivotal role in fostering partnerships with sports clubs, community organisations, and stakeholders to deliver active and healthy opportunities across the region.

Main Responsibilities
  • To develop and maintain strong relationships with sports clubs and community groups, ensuring successful outcomes through collaborative efforts.
  • To engage with the local community, identifying and promoting opportunities that cater to diverse needs and preferences.
  • To coordinate stakeholder input and involvement in project planning and delivery, guaranteeing successful execution and effective communication.
  • To cultivate effective communication skills, achieving goals and benefits for the community through strategic collaboration and partnership building.
  • To work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating strong written communication and presentation skills in order to drive project success.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience working with outdoor sporting and recreation facilities, showcasing expertise in facility management and operation.
  • Able to liaise effectively with sports clubs and community groups, possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, achieved desired outcomes for the community through targeted strategies and initiatives.
  • Ability to coordinate sports club stakeholder input and engagement, ensuring inclusive and participatory approaches.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and teamwork skills, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills, preparing high-quality reports, plans, and correspondence based on evidence-based research and data.
  • Relevant degree or diploma in sport and recreation administration, project management, or equivalent experience working with sporting and recreation clubs and school groups.
