Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SMSF Accountant to join our team in Melbourne's inner east. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SMSF, tax compliance, and business advisory services for high-net-worth individuals, professionals, and private investors.

The Opportunity

This exciting role offers the chance to work with a portfolio of approximately 200 high-quality SMSFs, providing technical compliance and business advisory work. The successful candidate will be trained for team supervision responsibilities and collaborate with an established offshore team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end SMSF compliance, including financials, tax returns, and audit preparation.
  • Work directly with high-net-worth clients and their advisors to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Contribute to business advisory projects.
  • Review work completed by junior and offshore team members, providing feedback and support.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, ensuring best practice standards are maintained.
  • Assist in managing workflows and supporting the broader SMSF team's operational needs.
About You
  • 4-5+ years' experience in SMSF accounting within a public practice setting.
  • CA/CPA qualified or close to completion.
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of SMSFs.
  • A strong interest in business advisory work.
  • A professional and articulate communicator, comfortable dealing with high-calibre clients.
  • Eager to step into a leadership role and help mentor junior team members.
