Position Overview

This opportunity is for an experienced procurement leader to oversee the delivery of specialist goods at a university.

The position holder will lead a small team responsible for safe, compliant, and efficient procurement of regulated and high-risk goods.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a team of procurement professionals delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality procurement for regulated and specialty goods;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and other units to improve procurement processes, supplier engagement, and value for money outcomes;
  • Provide expert advice and oversight on procurement practices, compliance, and operational planning across various environments
Key Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in finance, business administration, or a related field, with at least four years of experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead safe, compliant, and efficient procurement practices for high-risk or regulated goods;
  • Experience supporting teams and stakeholders through operational change within a large organisation;
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on client service, workforce planning, and continuous improvement;
  • Proven ability to manage procurement frameworks that meet compliance, value-for-money, and efficiency objectives;
  • Sound experience in end-to-end procurement within complex organisations, preferably in the tertiary sector;
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, ethical sourcing, and risk management in relation to regulated procurement; and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, and maintain effective relationships
