Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Leading Hand to join our team at dnata catering. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading by example and ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality meals for our airline partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by Example: Competently perform all duties of a Senior Catering Attendant and Catering Attendant, demonstrating a high level of expertise and attention to detail.
  • Supervise and Train: Supervise, train, and induct team members within designated work areas, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to meet internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Quality Control: Thoroughly understand and implement quality control techniques, ensuring customer specifications are met and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Organisation and Productivity: Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organised and productivity and performance criteria are met, identifying opportunities to improve performance and productivity.
  • Stock Management: Investigate discrepancies in stock take, ensuring accurate inventory management and minimising waste.
  • Operational Efficiency: Work in other areas of the unit for part or whole of shift basis to meet operational demands, ensuring seamless delivery of services.

Requirements:

  • Availability: Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day week, on a full-time basis.
  • Experience: Experience of working in a food environment, with a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills, basic knife skills, fine motor skills, and access to own transport.
  • Knowledge: Sound knowledge of WHS & hygiene, HACCP experience, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work under pressure in a busy open plan kitchen, working autonomously as well as part of a team.
