Job Summary
The Operational Director of Medical Services is a key member of the NSW Health senior management team responsible for enabling the safe, effective and efficient delivery of medical services at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Eastern Sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a medical workforce of over 300 senior and junior medical officers.
- Develop and implement strategic direction and operational management plans to meet safety, service, quality education and accreditation requirements.
- Provide clinical leadership and management at an executive/senior level, inclusive of medical administration, medical workforce, medical ethics, clinical teaching and leadership and change management.
- Design and lead change initiatives to enhance the delivery of care in a public health setting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement clinical governance, clinical risk management and continuous quality improvement management strategies.
Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) or other appropriate specialist recognition.
- Postgraduate qualifications with substantial experience as a DMS in a large base or referral hospital.
- Demonstrated high capability in communication, complex negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health industry, the community and various professional groups.
