Job Title: CNC Operator

The CNC machine operator is responsible for using design programs and software that is used in conjunction with the machines to create an automated process for manufacturing products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculate material quantities to be fed into the machine.
  • Adjust operating speed based on vibrations and sounds indicating a malfunction.
  • Inspect fabricated parts to ensure they match specifications.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, change parts as necessary, and ensure the overall running of the machine.

Technical Skills:

  • Precision drilling and tapping.
  • Operating and maintaining factory machinery.
  • Cutting and shaping materials including plastic, aluminium, MDF, and steel.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized working area, free from excess materials and cut-offs.
  • Ensuring correct tools are used for the task at hand.
  • Providing accurate measurements and results.
  • Developing innovative work practices and improving processes.
  • Understanding and interpreting blueprints.
  • Programming for new orders.
  • Changing tooling as needed.
  • Managing material stock levels and re-ordering process.
  • Properly loading and unloading raw materials.
  • Complying with OH&S and WH&S regulations.
  • Using gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
  • Understanding G-code programming and editing.
  • Recognizing and deploying inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Performing daily cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
  • Monitoring CNC and drill bit condition and replacing when worn out.
