About the Centre

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director who is enthusiastic, well-organized, and eager for a new opportunity. This centre accommodates 71 children and is designed to create a secure, engaging, and nurturing atmosphere for young learners. The charming environment allows natural light to illuminate the space through large windows, fostering a welcoming and warm setting.

About the Role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a committed Director to provide exceptional leadership at a newly established centre in Picton. The successful applicant will oversee daily operations, manage a team of devoted educators, ensure adherence to all regulatory standards, and cultivate strong relationships with families and the local community.

  • Fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising educational staff
  • Designing and implementing educational programs and curricula
  • Maintaining open communication with parents and families
  • Overseeing financial management and budgeting
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing and regulatory standards
  • Collaborating with community organizations and partners
  • Conducting regular assessments to promote quality improvement
  • Addressing any conflicts or issues that arise within the centre

Skills and Experience

  • Strong organizational and management abilities are essential
  • Experience in developing Quality Improvement Plans (QIP), managing fees, and child enrolments (or willingness to learn)
  • Comprehensive understanding of licensing requirements and health and safety regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children, while actively listening to feedback
  • Knowledge of financial management, including budget creation and oversight
  • Prior experience as a Director is highly desirable

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian resident with full working rights
  • Hold a bachelor's degree or Diploma in early childhood education (or ACECQA equivalent)
  • Experience in a Director or Nominated Supervisor role is highly desirable
  • Current approved first aid, anaphylaxis, and asthma qualifications
  • Current Employment Working with Children Check
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Two professional references required
