Skilled Medical is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director Medical Services to lead our clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives in a major teaching hospital. As a senior executive, you will be responsible for driving excellence in patient care and strategic planning, ensuring the delivery of quality clinical outcomes and district KPIs.
About the Role:
The Director Medical Services will be a key member of the District Quality and Governance Council, the Hub and Group executive teams, and other coordinating bodies. You will provide oversight to systems assuring the quality of clinical care, including processes of adverse incident review and review of professional credentials, privileges, and conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives in a major teaching hospital
- Drive excellence in patient care and strategic planning
- Ensure delivery of quality clinical outcomes and district KPIs
- Provide oversight to systems assuring the quality of clinical care
- Participate in all decisions and accountabilities regarding the management of the Hub and Group
Requirements:
- Registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) or expected to receive FRACMA in the next six months or other specialist recognition with significant relevant experience as a clinical leader
- Demonstrated leadership skills within a complex health service with the ability to motivate, inspire, and organise staff to achieve organisational, program, and professional outcomes
- Demonstrated ability and experience in clinical strategic planning and clinical leadership for the provision of programs and services consistent with the responsibilities of the position
