Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist

This role requires a dedicated professional to work with vulnerable children and families, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that prioritizes the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety plans to mitigate risk and promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to provide comprehensive support services to families in crisis.
  • Assist families in formulating goals and developing strategies to address complex social issues.
  • Participate in court processes, including preparation of court documents and attending court hearings.
Requirements:
  • A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred, or at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and engage with diverse communities.
  • A valid driver's licence and paid working with children clearance number are essential.
  • Documented verification of Aboriginality is required, confirming your status as an Aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent.
