Child and Family Practitioner

Our organization is seeking an experienced Child and Family Practitioner to join our team on a fixed-term contract.

This role is ideal for a professional who brings trauma-informed practice to their work with children and families, and who is passionate about early intervention and family preservation.

About the Role
  • Deliver tailored support to families focusing on child wellbeing, parenting capacity, and family stability.
  • Manage a caseload of up to 10 families.
  • Conduct outcomes-focused assessments, case planning, and case management.
  • Apply an evidence-informed coaching framework to build capacity and create sustainable change.
  • Facilitate group programs and collaborate with partner agencies including child protection, mental health, family violence, AOD, and disability services.
Key Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Family Services, or related field.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly those with complex needs such as family violence, mental health, or AOD issues.
  • Commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice with understanding of Aboriginal cultural protocols.
  • Sound knowledge of MARAM , child protection system, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
  • Full Victorian driver's licence and current Working with Children Check.
