We are seeking a talented Building Structures Practice Lead to join our team in Sydney, Australia.

Job Description:

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and technically accomplished leader to shape HDR's building structures offering in Australia. As a key member of our Building Engineering Services Leadership Team, you will develop and drive strategy, technical excellence and team development, while expanding our national footprint in close partnership with clients and HDR's cross-disciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification and professional registration, alongside a minimum of 15 years of experience within consulting engineering. You are known for your technical expertise, commercial acumen and ability to win and deliver complex projects. Your strong client network and passion for innovation, quality and team development will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HDR's building structures strategy to establish and grow the practice across Australia.
  • Build client relationships and secure major project wins.
  • Actively deliver projects.
  • Oversee the technical excellence and quality of building structural engineering across diverse sectors.
  • Build and lead a high performing team aligned with HDR's values and technical standards.
  • Collaborate across business groups to deliver integrated solutions for our clients.
  • Actively lead as a member of the Building Engineering Services Leadership Team.
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, advocating for an inclusive working environment and fostering a culture of belonging.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 15 years of experience.
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
  • Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
