Job Opportunity: Strategic Governance Expert

The successful candidate will lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive framework to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders across assurance, internal audit, and governance functions.
  • Prepare and review high-quality work papers reflecting the work performed and supporting findings and recommendations.
  • Present and negotiate audit findings and recommendations to senior management and key personnel as required.
  • Lead post-implementation reviews and reporting of management actions related to recommendations raised by audit.
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with legislation, accounting, and auditing standards.
  • Conduct operational assurance reviews on funded projects in accordance with program funding guidelines.
  • Respond to external audit of grant programs administered by the organization.
  • Collaborate with the manager, assurance, to develop the annual assurance plan.
  • Identify opportunities for positive change and innovation within assurance, internal audit, and governance, promoting and progressing these agendas.
