Senior Database Administrator Role

Our organization is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise-level database systems.

This senior role demands a high level of technical expertise, proactive ownership, and exceptional customer service skills to deliver consistent results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely resolution of incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Take ownership of root cause analysis, performance tuning, and capacity management to maintain optimal system health.
  • Participate in an on-call roster to provide 24x7 database support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience in DBA roles with enterprise-grade database systems.
  • Proven expertise in IBM Informix administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and upgrades.
  • Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Proficiency in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing techniques.
  • Understanding of operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows) and their impact on database performance.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools and proactive capacity management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a customer-first mindset.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within ITIL/incident & problem management frameworks.

Technical Expertise:

  • IBM Informix administration and troubleshooting.
  • SQL performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Operating system knowledge (Linux/Unix/Windows).
