Key Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic asset management initiatives to support the nation's energy transition. This includes developing and implementing renewal and maintenance strategies for high-voltage transmission line assets, effectively balancing cost, risk, and performance across the entire asset lifecycle.

As a key member of our team, you will provide expert insights and strategic recommendations to support our Asset Management System. You will contribute to:

  • Developing economic and technical strategies for asset lifecycle management, including renewal and maintenance needs, and forecasting future expenditure to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
  • Reviewing asset condition, performance, and risk to guide decision-making.
  • Reviewing and providing technical oversight of technical standards for design, construction, and maintenance of transmission line assets.
  • Identifying and implementing new technologies and practices to improve Asset Management practices.
  • Developing governance documentation to identify needs, options, and justify investment for replacement or refurbishment of transmission line assets.
  • Developing spares requirements for transmission lines assets through policies and strategies.
  • Leading investigations of equipment failures and developing appropriate asset management strategies.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering, with extensive experience in engineering practice related to transmission line design, maintenance, construction, or asset management.
  • Sound technical knowledge of transmission line asset design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Sound understanding of risk management and asset management concepts and applications.
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of asset investment justification.
  • Well-developed people and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements relating to construction and maintenance of relevant assets, safety issues, and the environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills for persuasive reports and submissions.
