Job Opportunity

The role of a Short-Term Planning Superintendent involves leading the planning and oversight of all mining operations on a short-term horizon. This position requires strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication abilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and planning staff, providing guidance to ensure efficient budget execution and adaptability in a dynamic operational environment.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geology, or a related discipline, with extensive proven experience in a comparable position. Proficiency in mine planning tools and software is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the short-term planning function, ensuring the STP team produces detailed, actionable plans for all mining operations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and planning staff, providing guidance to ensure efficient budget execution and adaptability in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Act as a key liaison between Execution Leads and the Planning group, ensuring seamless coordination for all development, production, and rehabilitation activities with a focus on schedule, quality, and safety.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geology, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive proven experience in a comparable position, ideally in the context of large open-cut mining or mine engineering.
  • Proficiency in mine planning tools and software, with a preference for expertise in Minesight (including Planner and Atlas).
  • Recognised within the professional community for technical proficiency, along with robust leadership and communication abilities.
