Mental Health Sector Placement Coordinator Job Description
About the Role We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Sector Placement Coordinator to oversee and supervise the facilitation of student placements across the mental health sector. This position will require the successful candidate to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including the MHPPP team, Course Coordinators, WIL team and across-disciplines to identify, develop and enact placement relationships with internal and external stakeholders. As part of this role, you will also work collaboratively with agencies and service providers in South Australia and the Northern Territory to identify challenges and design creative yet robust solutions for placement opportunities and workforce development. Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with agencies and service providers to identify placement opportunities and address challenges
- Coordinate the planning, evaluation and assessment of student placements, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for students
- Work closely with academics to develop and deliver field education programs that meet the needs of students and industry partners
- Provide expert advice and support to students on placement, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their chosen careers
- A PhD or equivalent professional experience in an area relevant to social work or a related field
- Proven experience in teaching and learning at a tertiary level, including curriculum design and field education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience working with students and staff in a higher education setting, preferably in a field education or work-integrated learning role
