Job Summary:

As a seasoned underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in driving departmental, branch, and corporate success by contributing to the achievement of profit, growth, service producer, and client relations goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective portfolio analysis, profit, and retention strategies that yield tangible results
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal customers by providing actionable feedback and solutions on book management strategy
  • Maintain accurate monitoring and reporting on the status of open claims for assigned accounts, ensuring timely recommendations
  • Prepare comprehensive account reviews with management, showcasing a deep understanding of risk, industry trends, competitive environments, and Chubb's products and capabilities
  • Ensure adherence to underwriting, compliance, and file documentation standards and workflows to support revenue and profit goals
  • Evaluate and accept or decline new lines, renewals, and endorsements based on sound judgment
  • Provide informed input to Manager on profit analysis, premium planning, market, and environment analysis
  • Achieve individual producer targets as specified in goals/business plan, driving business growth
  • Develop and execute an effective business development strategy to prospect for new business across SBU/product lines and broker segments
  • Proactively manage sales pipeline to identify and develop new business prospects, maximizing opportunities
  • Nurture broker and key account relationships through regular communication, visitation, and collaboration
  • Plan and execute a regular quality underwriting travel program to promote understanding and support for underwriting and marketing goals

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to proactively identify and implement intelligent solutions to complex underwriting situations
  • Sound subject matter expertise in pricing techniques, alternative risk transfer, and reserve development by individual case and book of business
  • Working knowledge of key accounts within the Branch
  • Understanding of underwriting appetites across departments and associated interdepartmental relationships
  • Strong judgment, experience, and confidence to make informed recommendations for tailored coverage and policy manuscripting
  • Familiarity with key competitors' products/services
  • Effective negotiation skills to achieve constructive business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to influence decisions
