Job Description

As a Senior Clinician within the Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services, you will be part of a team that provides integrated treatment, care and support for individuals with co-occurring serious mental illness and substance use or addiction. This role requires clinical leadership and expertise in providing primary AOD treatment for area mental health and wellbeing service consumers.

  • Provide clinical leadership to support the implementation of integrated treatment, care and support for people with co-occurring serious mental illness and substance use or addiction.
  • Provide primary AOD treatment for area mental health and wellbeing service consumers where clinical scope of expertise matches consumer treatment needs.
  • Provide primary and secondary AOD consultation and linkages for AMHWS consumers.
  • Contribute to service quality improvement in MHDAS including AOD capability building for the MHDAS workforce.
  • Provide discipline specific professional supervision and supervision of students within Barwon Health if required.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Advanced clinical skills and experience in providing AOD treatment and support.
  • Leadership and management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide high-quality clinical supervision and mentorship.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatments and therapies for AOD issues.
  • Ability to contribute to service quality improvement initiatives.
